Our Webshare review led us to some very budget friendly options for small to medium businesses looking for proxies as well as a lot of satisfied customers. Read more here.

Webshare is a Delaware company with a presence in California, but prides itself on being a fully remote and distributed team. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons they are able to wow their customers with low prices for a quality network.

They have a unique free trial option that gives users 10 free data center IP addresses for as long as they want, up to 1 GB per month. They don’t even take a credit card for that service. It’s kind of unheard of. We can’t guarantee no one else offers that kind of a free trial for dedicated proxies – but we’ve never seen it. It’s not even really a trial since you can keep using them. Pretty sweet.

Webshare pricing is very competitive with some users calling them ‘dirt cheap’. And we agree to some extent. Cheap proxies are not just about the cost per IP address or GB, it’s about the get in price. With Webshare you can get in to a rotating residential proxy at the $6/GB level at the 10 GB package point. With other providers you need to commit to dozens or hundreds of GB to get that kind of pricing. For just $3/month, you can get access to 100 data center proxies. That’s just under $0.09 per IP whereas others might charge 5 times as much.

Webshare has another cool product that will allow you to get residential like performance out of a datacenter proxy. These are verified data center proxies, meaning they have been tested and work on specific target sites. Currently Webshare offers these verified proxies for Google search with Amazon, eBay and LinkedIn reportedly on the way.

After a thorough Webshare review it seems to us that this provider is worth a try for small to medium businesses who want quality proxies without the Fortune 500 pricing.

1. What is the Review Score?

The Review Score is a proprietary analysis that takes into account both objective and subjective inputs from three sources: the proxy provider, our review process and customers of the proxy company.

2. Why is it Important?

The primary reason is safety. We put a lot of effort into trying to identify providers who might be up to nefarious things. There are too many horror stories out there of providers who disappeared overnight and / or were doing nefarious things on their network. Once a safety baseline is established (generally a score of over 80), you can use the Review Score to assess potential providers based on the things that matter to you.

3. How You Should Use it?

The Review Score is not a be-all, end-all. If you are comparing providers that have a score of 92 and 95, you should not use the score to 'break the tie'. You should instead focus on the specific features and needs you have. The Review Score, however, is a good way to think of different classes of providers. And sometimes a lower review score might be better. If you are looking for cheap proxies and don't care about speed or other issues, then you don't need the blue chips. That's ok. The Review Score is one data point you should use in making your decisions.

4. How is it Calculated?

Good question! We're not telling. :) However, we say that trust is the most important thing. Using a proxy service has risks when you don't know what the company behind it is up to. We're trying to vet out the bad actors for you.

The following content comes from the providers themselves, including their perspective on why users choose them over other services and their most popular use cases.

A Word from the Provider

Webshare is the only proxy provider with a B2C-dominant userbase, meaning it’s your go-to choice for small to mid size users/markets. We believe we offer the best price vs. performance ratios across our range of proxy options along with a unique free trial that gives each new account 10 datacenter IPs + 1GB monthly bandwidth to use as long as they want, no credit card required.

Once ready to transition to paid services, Webshare excels in plan flexibility which is why our audience shares so many different users/use cases. Plans start at $2.99/month and go all the way up to enterprise-level bandwidth and IPs, so larger B2B clients can still take advantage of Webshare.

Webshare offers Datacenter proxies, Residential proxies, Static Residential (ISP) proxies, and Verified proxies. Each account also comes with the ability to add our free Chrome Proxy Extension. This extension is a seamless integration made to manage your proxies with just a few clicks anywhere on your browser.

The user dashboard that comes with each account contains all your essential features for various tasks: rotation, backbone connection, IP/user+password authentication, API, concurrency customization, downloadable proxy list, and detailed proxy data (usage, performance, uptime) tracking. Webshare’s proxy pool consists of 50M+ IPs, 195+ target locations, and uptime of 99.7%. HTTPS & SOCKS5 protocol support.
