Our ABCproxy review uncovered more questions than answers, with some notable trust concerns that potential buyers should consider carefully. Despite an impressive-looking website, there are red flags that surfaced during our ABCproxy review.
Trust Issues
At first glance, ABCproxy’s website suggests a legitimate and established company with a range of promising products: The kind of company you could easily jump right on board with.
However, we did not need to get far into our standard review process, let alone our advanced process, before we saw some red flags.
For instance, ABCproxy displays a five-star “Excelent” (misspelled) Trustpilot badge on its website. This badge, however, is not an official Trustpilot graphic, but a custom-made one that misleads users about their true Trust Score.
So, we of course checked and as you can see Trustpilot would not even give them a rating because they determined that ABCproxy breached the guidelines with fake reviews. They have 72% 1 star reviews which almost hard to accomplish and certainly is the not a situation under which they ever, even with fake positive reviews, would never have garnered an “excellent” rating.
Another major red flag came up in our standard review process. In the same screenshot from above that they claim to be “Trusted by thousands of businesses since 2018”. Well, we don’t know how that’s possible since their parent company “Prince Legend Limited”, which is the name they provided us in their provider intake form, was only formed in May of 2022. At least that’s what the official Hong Kong business registry told us. Their oldest review on Trustpilot was from December of 2022, so we’re going to assume the registry is correct.
Further, they claim to have a network of more than 200 million legal real IPs. This is more than any other provider we can recall. People who want to buy reliable proxies often, and reasonably, use network size as a factor in determining which companies can best suit their needs. The more proxy IPs, the easier it should be to connect to a reliable one.
However, it is unclear, with a network that large, why there are so many reviews on Trustpilot that complain about the network. It seems to be the largest complaint and it’s not the typical set of complaints we see about the network. Users talk about the proxies not connecting at all or dropping unexpectedly after 15 seconds.
Corporate Identity and Transparency
A few aspects of ABCproxy’s corporate presence also raised concerns during our ABCproxy review. Despite presenting themselves as a well-established company, they communicated with us through an Outlook email address, rather than a custom domain. While this is a small detail, it adds to the overall impression of a hastily-assembled operation. Additionally, the website layout and wording bear similarities to other proxy sites we’ve reviewed, which suggests a templated setup. This lack of care, when considered with other issues we found, may suggest potential reliability issues.
Hidden Policies Including Refunds
While conducting our ABCproxy review, we found that policy information, though available, is hidden deep within the website’s navigation. It took multiple clicks through “FAQ,” “User Guide,” and finally “About Us” before reaching the policy section. Unlike most reputable providers that display clear links to their terms and policies in the footer, ABCproxy makes it challenging for users to access these documents. This layout can prevent users from fully understanding ABCproxy’s terms, including its strict “no refunds” policy. While a no-refund policy is not uncommon, being transparent and straightforward about it is crucial to ensure users can make informed choices.
Conclusion
In summary, our ABCproxy review raises significant concerns about the company’s transparency and trustworthiness. From questionable marketing claims to hidden policies and inconsistent network quality, we recommend that potential users exercise caution. We have chosen not to partner with ABCproxy, prioritizing vetted providers that demonstrate transparency and reliability. What is the Review Score?
The Review Score is a proprietary analysis that takes into account both objective and subjective inputs from three sources: the proxy provider, our review process and customers of the proxy company.
Why is it Important?
The primary reason is safety. We put a lot of effort into trying to identify providers who might be up to nefarious things. There are too many horror stories out there of providers who disappeared overnight and / or were doing nefarious things on their network. Once a safety baseline is established, you can use the Review Score to assess potential providers based on the things that matter to you.
Should I always choose a company with the higher review score?
Absolutely not. First figure out which companies meet your needs. The review score just alerts users to some potential issues they should look into. This doesn’t mean the potential issues are relevant to you or even valid.
There are cases where a company with a review score of 7 might be a better fit for you than a company with a score of 9. Focus on the specific features and needs you have. Below a score of 7, we generally do not even partner with or promote sites and you should exercise caution if you see a red score.
How is it Calculated?
Good question! We’re not telling. 🙂 However, we say that trust is the most important thing. Using a proxy service has risks when you don’t know what the company behind it is up to so we do as much vetting as possible from independent resources and our own research. The algorithm will grow over time.
Can proxy companies buy a higher review score?
Absolutely not. They cannot buy higher rankings in the ProxyMatch results either. While we do take company input to help us better understand their offerings, they cannot request higher scores. We do review our scores periodically and when providers make changes to policies or offerings.
