Ethics Policy and Disclosures

PickAProxy.com is designed to help our users navigate the process of picking safe, effective proxies for their legal use case. The proxy industry has come a long way in establishing trust with many individuals and companies across the globe by providing ethical and secure ways to complete tasks on-line that require proxies. We want to be part of that progress by helping users identify the players in the industry who are doing things the right way and advancing the needs of the industry as a whole.

While our primary duty is to our end readers, we take our relationships with providers and our role in the industry as a whole seriously. Therefore, we are stating our Ethics Policy and disclosures here.

Funding

  • PickAProxy.com is funded by commissions earned from making referrals to proxy providers and other companies.
  • We may offer ad placements for proxy companies or related services, but these will never be placed within review listings.

Review Scores and List Rankings

  • Review Scores are calculated based on a variety of both subjective and objective factors.
  • We do not publish or share information about our Review Score algorithm.
  • Review Scores can and will change with algorithm updates.
  • We do not entertain partner requests to change Review Scores, however, we are always open to input from partners to clarify, update or correct information we provide on our site. New information and partner input may or may not change Review Scores.
  • Partners cannot buy higher Review Scores or higher rankings for general or specific lists.
  • We are clear with our users that review scores should be just one factor in determining who to work with for their proxy-related projects.
  • We may provide extra placements on our web site for higher converting partners through ads, content collaborations or posts about newsworthy information. However, these placements will never take the form of higher rankings or higher Review Scores.

Reviews

  • We provide information about companies based on
    • their input
    • user input
    • our own research and data gathering.
  • We make an attempt to indicate the source of information and opinions about partner services in the reviews so our users can place the information in perspective.
  • We want to provide accurate information and we will always correct errors of fact and consider alternative perspectives.
  • One of our key roles in the industry is helping users weed out bad actors. Therefore we are strict about red flags that arise in our research to help our users avoid fly-by-night operations or worse.
  • We will limit data we provide about providers when our review turns up serious concerns.
  • Our decision to not publish extensive information or to not recommend a provider does not necessarily mean they are doing anything wrong or illegal. It just means we have concerns and choose not to promote them.
  • We will not partner with, link to or promote companies who participate in or assist in activities that we know to be illegal or believe are morally reprehensible.
    • We may have listings for companies even if we choose not to promote them or link to them.
    • These listings will generally state our concerns and direct users to other listings.
  • If we have published non-public data about your company that you do not wish to be published, please contact support/at/ourcompany.com to let us know so we can rectify the issue.

We aim to be not just another affiliate site, but to join all the great companies out there who have pro-actively helped move the industry out of the shadows and into homes and corporations around the world. These policies are designed to support that mission.
